1. Confirm identity and version

Check the project, item, quantity and proof version. Feedback attached to an older proof does not change the current production file unless a revised version is issued.

2. Read every piece of content

Verify names, phone numbers, URLs, dates, prices, legal lines, product details and spelling against the authorized source. Do not assume a prior revision carried forward.

3. Check size, position and sequence

Review dimensions, orientation, page/panel order, folds, cut lines and safe areas. A proof may be shown at a convenient screen size rather than physical scale.

4. Understand color and material limits

Screens, print processes, stocks, films, paints and illumination reproduce color differently. Confirm whether the proof is for content/layout, calibrated color or both.

5. Record one clear decision

Approve the exact version, or request changes with precise annotations. New changes should create a new proof; an approved file should never be silently overwritten.
